I thought of you today
there was a song on the radio talking about how we truly approach each other only in death
whereas while alive we're too blind to truly see each other
we used to think we'd transport every message simply by being there
thinking who we were and what we had to say was self-understood
there never seemed to be enough energy for that extra effort of words anyhow
I thought of how that clock ticking away in your chest didn't have a repeat button
one day it simply stopped
and who will answer the questions now that remained open?
